Introducing Firefly

Back in the mid nineties John O’hanlon and the team were producing small batches of beer for the O’Hanlons pub and a handful of local pubs who purchased the excess beer produced by the up and coming brewery, Port Stout and Dry Stout were among the favourites of the drinkers and publicans alike.

However there was an ever increasing demand for a nice Amber English session Bitter to go alongside the darker beers O’Hanlons became known for. So here was the birth of Firefly, the name came about after a competition was held in the pub to name the new beer.

Firefly is a zesty easy drinking crisp amber session bitter. At only 3.7% it’s a beer that has a nice sweet malty backbone yet is easy to drink again and again.

In 2020 we decided to do a bottling run of Firefly after many requests from regular customers so you can have a bottle to enjoy at home if you can’t get to the local pub to try it.
